Relentless Melt

Relentless Melt

My latest novel, published by Melville House in 2023. It's "both an exploration of gender identity and a fast-paced adventure in a 1909 Boston not quite like the one we know," according to Katherine Addison (The Goblin Emperor); Boston's WBUR calls it "a fun, genre-bending revival of classic cosmic horror and detective fiction with a distinctly modern attitude".

The Insides

The Insides

My second novel, published by Melville House in 2016. It's about knives, meat, weird portals, witches, monsters, and racists. Robin Sloan (Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore) calls it "a literary urban fantasy with sharp things to say about the way we live now ... rich and urgent and weird, a novel that defies categorization but demands to be consumed." Alyssa Harad (Coming To My Senses) says "If you love fierce, witchy leading ladies, facing down evil, and traveling to strange realms that will explain your life before they haunt you forever, this is the book for you." Here are some more reviews and some extras I wrote around the time of the book's release are here.

The Weirdness

The Weirdness

My debut novel, published by Melville House in 2014. It's a comic misadventure about a failed writer who teams up with the Devil to thwart the apocalypse. Along the way they encounter bad readings, good coffee, hot poets, evil goats, and Norwegian sex magicians. The Boston Globe called it "charming, silly, and heartily entertaining." Publishers Weekly called it "[a] comedic literary thriller situated between the world of Harry Potter and the Brooklyn of Jonathan Ames." Here are some more reviews, and here are some interviews I did around the time of the book's release.
